Contrary to the us system that inadvertently creates a two-party political landscape where only two party ideals can compete.

Which I oppose and still oppose. I didn’t vote for Trump. I actually voted for the Socialis Workers Party.

And i got banned from instances for advocating third party.

I’m actually a socialist. I appreciate the chaos Trump is causing though. Because the Democrats refused to do anything of value, and they just made fun of anyone who didn’t agree with them. And Democrates hate the idea of third-parties even more than the republicans do.

I was called a Nazi by Lemmy because I refused to vote for Harris. Even tho I would never vote for Trump either. lol

Yeah let’s hope the chaos will be a catalyst for things to change but I worry people with bad intentions are more prepared to use the situation.

Do you really believe the chaos is more likely to lead to something good, rather than break down the three-pillar checks and balances the founding fathers lined out? Trump obviously wants more power to the executive branch and has the blessing to ignore the judicial branch of government. And it might be hard to claw back once in the power balance has bern shifted.

The two party system is obviously flawed, when people choose to vote for some one-size-fits-all compromise instead of one mirroring their political views. Because that’s what is incentivized.

Lenny is pretty aggressive in its left leaning ideologies and I tend to lean the same way, but I also like to understand the other viewpoint.

You say you voted socialist, but you post a lot of conservative news. Why is that? Because you want to broaden the Lemmy political spectrum or what?

You say you voted socialist, but you post a lot of conservative news. Why is that? Because you want to broaden the Lemmy political spectrum or what?

That’s the exact reason. I don’t like how Lemmy tends to silence and try to outright ban conservative views, even if I don’t share them.

Before the election, I was on .world. And active in the c/politics community. I created and modded several Socialist Workers Party communities (which are still up and which I still mod on other instances). I talked about how I advocated third-party.

I said I was going to vote socialist party. And I got sooo may hateful comments. Much more hateful comments from liberals on lemmy than any conservatives.

And I eventually got banned for my views. And that banning was celebrated. And to this day, people STILL want to ban me.

But look at my posts. None have ever advocated violence. None have ever advocated anything radical. I post articles.

Regularly there are entire threads out to ban me from the fediverse. Why? Because I didn’t vote liberal and I advocate opposing viewpoints.

Lemmy insured that I will never ever vote democrat. Ever. I have never seen as much hate and name calling as I have here on Lemmy. People advocate violence, shooting rich people, shooting trump, everything. There are calls to ban all conservative communities from lemmy.

In fact, Lemmy does the very thing they they accuse republicans of: silencing opposing views.

Heres one of the posts calling to ban me. Feel free to check out every comment and post I’ve made and see if you see any reason for a permanent ban. lol
